PROSECUTION & DRAFTING UNIT
Objective
- To provide quality and accurate legal advices by referring to MPOB’s legislations & policies and current governing laws for the best interest of the Malaysian oil palm industry.
- To conduct prosecution and criminal proceedings in court of law to ensure obedience of law in force thus safeguarding the interests of Malaysian oil palm industry and the public.
Functions
- To provide legal advices to Licensing & Enforcement Division.
- To conduct prosecution of offences under the Malaysian Palm Oil Board Act 1998 (Act 582) and its subsidiary regulations.
- To conduct revisions and studies on the Malaysian Palm Oil Board Act 1998 and its subsidiary regulations.
- To supervise the handling of civil cases by MPOB’s panel lawyers.
Activities
Prosecution & Drafting Unit’s activities include:
- Prosecution of offences committed under the Malaysian Palm Oil Board Act 1998 and its subsidiary regulations.
- Drafting and amendment of law under the purview of Malaysian Palm Oil Board Act 1998 and its subsidiary regulations.
